Speaking of times when flowers are in season; there are two times of year that can greatly affect flowers and your wedding.  One is great and the other is to be avoided.  February is the month when we celebrate love, and all florists know it.  That means that flowers are marked up in February.  Should you hold your wedding during this month, you will pay more for your wedding flowers.  The other times of year can work in your favor if you are having a church wedding.  During Christmas and Easter, churches are already decorated very nicely.  Deciding to hold your church ceremony during these holiday periods could save you from having to order wedding flowers for the church.

Ordering flowers online vs. from a local florist can save money, but also comes with some work involved.  Purchasing your wedding flowers online often means that you then become responsible for trimming and arranging.  It may be worth a bit of time to research just how much money you will save by ordering online when compared to the time it will take you to prep.  You don’t want to spend the night before your wedding cutting thorns from hundreds of roses!

If you do choose to go the DIY route and make your own bouquets, etc., there are simple arrangements that can be made quickly.  Many brides today are opting for simple bouquets such as several gerbera daisies tied together with ribbon.   Aisles at the ceremony could be decorated with ribbon as well, and a few sprigs of greenery with one flower in the middle.  For the reception, centerpieces could be simple and elegant, using greenery or even dried flower petals to line a plate and surround a few candles that have been tied together with ribbon.
